Graphite drawing on thai mulberry tree paper

This series of five drawings follows the movements of some palm trees during a tropical storm, as I saw them from my window when I lived in Singapore. The very clear graphite on slightly transparent paper is chosen to show each time only a partial image of the scene. The fragile plant very wisely follows the strong wind. A small moment of life is captured in the drawing.
This series was a finalist for the 2021 Pierre David-Weill Drawing Prize.
